STEETON lost by one wicket to Kirkstall Educational in the highest scoring game of the day in the Aire-Wharfe Cricket League on Saturday.

Batting first, Division Two side Steeton scored 305-4 with opener Craig Walton leading the way with a fine 107 off 142 balls.

Cameron Knowles (63no) and Bradley Akrigg (57no) also hit half centuries.

But Kirkstall were up to the task as Gabriel Field (89) and Sam Winter (72) top scored for the Leeds side, who nudged past the Steeton total in the final over with two balls to spare, ending on 306-9.

James Robinson and Tom Stead had two wickets apiece and Steeton also had three run outs.

Division Three side Skipton also lost by one wicket in the final over of their game against North Leeds 2nds at Sandylands on Saturday.

Rob Walker (48), captain Gary Owens (40) and Iqbal Khan (40no) all top scored for Skipton, who put up a total of 191 all out.

Although opener John Heath scored 54, Skipton bowlers made some breakthroughs against North Leeds' middle order, but the visitors scored runs down the order as Michael Shelton's 43no was instrumental in guiding the visitors 192-9, as they hit the winning runs on the second ball of the final over.

Skipton bowlers James Emmott and Josh Mullinder took 4-41 and 3-43, respectively.

Addingham, newly promoted to Division One, lost by 105 runs at Pool.

Seven Pool batsmen, led by a 46 from Will Cooper, scored in double digits as they scored 240-8.

Rory Stead took 3-45 for Addingham, who were bowled out for 135 in their innings. Daniel Ellis top scored for Addingham with 48.
