SKIPTON Town AFC Ladies travelled to Ewood Park, Blackburn, representing Venue Sports Bar in the inaugural Women’s BT Sport Pub Cup last Thursday.

One of 4 regional rounds across the UK, the squad faced opposition, all of which were representing pubs from across the North West in a 7-aside tournament played at the home of Blackburn Rovers.

Following a close group stage in which Venue's squad won two, drew one and lost one of their games, the ladies made it through to the regional final, against opposition representing The Royal Dyche pub in Burnley.

A closely contested final finished 2-0 to The Royal Dyche, but despite the scoreline, Skipton Ladies had already qualified for the National Semi-Finals, where they join the top two finishers from each of the regional rounds in an 11-a side tournament.

All roads now lead to Manchester City Academy on Bank Holiday Monday.
