WHARFEDALE's Jack Blakeney-Edwards has been named in Talk Rugby Union's National League Two North Team of the Season.

Blakeney-Edwards, who joined the Greens at the start of the 2018/19 season, has had a great campaign playing at fly-half.

After their final game of the season, Wharfedale coach Jon Feeley praised Blakeney-Edwards: "Jack Blakeney-Edwards has been a revelation. Since he's come to the club, he's been a popular member of the team and has put in some fantastic performances to boot."

The two sides at the top of the league, Hull Ionians, who secured an immediate return to National One after clinching the league title, and Chester, who finished just four points behind in second, have two players each in the team.

Hull’s Lewis Minikin was included as the centre ended the campaign as the division’s top points-scorer, whilst second-row Joe Makin has also been chosen.

Selected from Chester are captain Colin Campbell and No 8 Shay Owen, who is in a back-row which contains Huddersfield’s Lewis Bradley and Hinckley’s Gareth Turner.

Sedgley Park’s Bob Birtwell partners Makin at lock whilst in the front-row, Campbell and Otley’s Jason Moss are either side of Stourbridge’s Jack Lea.

In the backs, James Gough of Preston Grasshoppers and Blakeney-Edwards are at 9 and 10, respectively, whilst Morgan Passman (Tynedale), who scored 31 tries this season, and Fylde’s Tom Carleton have been selected on the wings.

Completing the team are centre Matt Riley (Sedgley Park) while Leicester Lions’ Alex Wilcockson has been named at full-back.
