SKIPTON CI jump into top spot in Mewies Solicitors Craven & District League Division Three after they managed to beat Bradley and the weather at Sandylands.

They did have the patience to wait around for more than two hours before completing the game.

Bradley posted 86 off 30.5 overs with Vince Grant making 25no. Azhar Iqbal performed the hat-trick in his 5-12 and Rob Cockell claimed 3-26. Skipton knocked the runs off in 16.1 overs for the loss of three wickets, with Sohail Choudary making 29no and Sam Smith 27.

Second-placed Thornton’s game at Foulridge II was washed out without a ball being bowled.

Third-placed Bingley Congs II looked to be taking a beating at Park Field. Glusburn’s skipper, Steve Brown, had clattered eight fours and four sixes in a knock of 60no before play was halted.

Embsay II had reached 58-0 at the close after 20 overs with Brian Hodgson (34no) and George Arkwright (16no) occupying the crease.

Danny Spencer had made 40no as Haworth progressed to 70-1 at Hepworth & Idle II.

Silsden’s Jack Lister (44no) and Rob Jones (31) put on 67 for the first wicket, which had progressed to 100-2 when the rain arrived. Oakworth II were their opponents.

In Division Four, Bingley Congs III are still three points clear at the top of the table, despite there being no play against Cowling II.

Second-placed Denholme II looked to be in a spot of bother at Airedale II. They were struggling on 65-6 when the rain rescued them. Adie Shires (28) and Chris Dennison (24) were their main contributors as Asher Nutting had taken 3-7.

Andy Fountain made 35no as Sutton II reached 50-2 at home to Glusburn II.

Wilsden II were going well at home to Gargrave II. They had made 115-3 with Imran Khan (36no), Liaqat Ali (27) and Alan King (28no) being the main scorers.

Bradley II (70-4) were going along nicely at home to Skipton CI II.

Finally, Oakworth III conceded their game to Long Lee II.
