ONE of Barnoldswick Town's new signings made a big impression in the club's first pre-season friendly against Chadderton on Saturday.

Striker Ric Seaar, who joined Town from league rivals Squires Gate, scored a hat-trick in Barnoldswick's 4-3 loss at Chadderton.

A quality player with a proven pedigree, Seaar re-joined Squires Gate ahead of the 2018/19 season after spells in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One North West with Colne and Kendal Town where he scored 16 goals in 2017/18.

He has also been with the likes of Norcross, Lytham Town, Blackpool Wren Rovers and AFC Blackpool.

Town manager Matt Barnes was also delighted to obtain the services of midfielder Joe Noblet from Charnock Richard.

A former Blackburn Rovers, Blackpool and Rochdale academy player, he has since seen service with Squires Gate

Noblet also made an appearance on ITV's 'Take Me Out'!

Another new signing Ash Brierley joins Barnoldswick Town from Nelson, where he had been since 2017. Before then, he played at Padiham.

Central defender Luke Gibson also joins the club from Burscough. He had joined the Linnets in November 2017 from Charnock Richard.

Kasom Shah has also decided to join Barlick for the new season. A former Accrington Stanley trainee, he featured several times in John Coleman's senior squad last season.

Alex Ralph and Chris Turner have also both signed on for Barnoldswick.

In addition to the new signings, the club have announced that a number of players have been retained for the upcoming season

James Crorken has signed for another season. Crorken, who was captain, played a pivotal role in the Barlick side during 2018/19 with with his leadership qualities and drive.

Goalkeeper Ryan Livesey, who was diagnosed with bladder cancer in November last season, has also been retained by the club alongside central defender Marc Young, Lewis Morgan, Harrry Thompson, Ethan Kershaw, Andrew Hill, Josh Eastwood, Sean Cookson and Tom Goodall.

Amongst the players leaving the club are left-back Jake McEneaney, who has signed for Silsden, and forward Jack Coop.

After their loss to Chadderton, Barnoldswick Town have six more away pre-season friendlies lined up.

The play at Maine Road FC this Saturday, Elton Vale next Tuesday, Steeton FC on Saturday, July 20, Nelson FC on Tuesday, July 23, Sunderland RCA on Saturday, July 27, and at Clitheroe FC on Tuesday, July 20.
