THREE brothers from the Settle area are playing a big part in Latvia's success in the European Nations Cup.
Latvia recently beat Norway 30-13 and are top of their group in the first cycle of games. In the match, all points were scored by Robbie, Tom and Will Davidson.
Prior to the match, Robbie needed 11 points to overtake Latvia's most successful player, Vladimir Nikonov, and he went on to score 20 points, while Tom and Will scored five each. It took Nikonov 31 games to reach 169 points, but Robbie surpassed that total in 15th games.
In the first half, Robbie scored a penalty to put Latvia 3-0 up, and Will then scored a try on 12 minutes, which Robbie converted.
After Norway made it 10-10, Robbie hit a 47-metre penalty and Norway converted one their own and the scores were tied at 13 at the break.
In the second half, Robbie scored a try and conversion to put Latvia up 20-13 and Robbie and Tom added tries to give Latvia, ranked 58th in the world, a 30-13 victory.
