THE two Cowling Cup semi-final ties were contrasting when Bradley entertained Ingrow II at Matthew Lane and Embsay II took on Riddlesden at Shires Lane.

Bradley batted first and amassed 213-5 in their 20 overs. Dave Hunt made 66, featuring eight sixes and two fours from 29 balls, and Phil Binner (51, four sixes and six fours from 22 balls), then Toby Meynell (34no) and Harry McEnearney (18no) put on 44 for the sixth wicket.

Needing to get off to a quick start, Ingrow lost three wickets before Ben Weatherill (55 from 32 balls) and Ben Pursey (43) put on 81 for the fourth wicket. However, the innings closed well short of target on 171-3.

In the other clash, Embsay II won the toss at Shires Lane and decided to bat.

Jack Kitching (79no from 66 balls) and Dominic Kay (61) put on 143 for the first wicket before the innings closed on 151-1.

Riddlesden were never far from the required rate and reached the last over with 14 to get with five wickets standing.

Two run outs didn’t help the cause and they pulled up eight short of their target.

Akeel Rashid (58) was the danger man but he fell and Embsay were in the final.

The final will be played at Gargrave on Sunday, August 11 with a 10am start. Later the Wynn Cup final will be played at 1.30pm.
