A STRONG bowling attack helped Barnoldswick, leaders of Ribblesdale's League Section B, beat Section A side Salesbury by seven wickets on Saturday.
Jack Rietschel (4-18), Chalana De Silva (3-32) and Jonathan Beech (3-46) ploughed through the Salesbury batting order, as only Hashen Ramanayake (48) managed to score more than 12 runs as the home side were bowled out for 103.
That total was an easy target for Barlick, who knocked off the runs in 17.3 overs as openers De Silva (51) and Luke Hodgson (40no) scored all the runs for Barlick. There were also 16 extras as the visitors cantered to victory, scoring 107-3.
Excellent bowling also proved to be the undoing of Earby, who lost by 19 runs at Whalley.
Jovaun Van Wyngaardt (6-40) had a brilliant bowling spell for Earby, who restricted Whalley to 117 all out. Charlie Jackson (47) top scored for the home side.
In reply, only Gary Martindale (27) and Girvacques De Jager (24) managed to score in double figures as Earby were bowled out for 98, thanks to spells of 7-51 by Jack Edgar and 3-38 by Fergus Bailey.
