BARNOLDSWICK Town were forced to take a share of the spoils in an exciting opening game of the season.

Matt Barnes's side secured a 3-3 draw in their curtain-raiser with Congleton Town in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division on Saturday.

Barlick took the lead in the 29th minute through Joseph Noblet. But this advantage was shortlived as Emini Adegbenro equalised two minutes later.

He doubled the visitors' lead a minute into the second period, until Richard Seear made it 2-2 in the 67th minute.

But Congleton came back again as Jordan Lorde made it 3-2 with 19 minutes left.

But the seesaw nature of this opening game had another twist as Ashley Brierley levelled things up for the hosts with seven minutes remaining.
