WITH leaders Otley losing and second placed Follifoot's game rained off, third placed Addingham gained ground in Division One of the Aire-Wharfe League with a win on Saturday.

Addingham's Ted Haggas mowed down Adel's bottom order, taking 5-20 in 5.5 overs as Addingham beat the home side by five wickets.

Adel were bowled out for 97, and Addingham (101-5), led by Will Atkins' 25, chased down the target in the 26th over.

Steeton are up to fourth in Division Two after smashing Guiseley by 126 runs.

A brilliant fifth-wicket stand of 91 by Tom Stead (63) and Stephen Pearson (36) gave Steeton a good target of 194-9, as Marcus Brown and Joshua Findlay took 3-42 and 3-54, respectively, for Guiseley.

Guiseley were then skittled out for 68, thanks to some excellent bowling by Paul Hardwick (4-16) and Adam Hardwick (3-10).

Thackley moved 15 points clear of the relegation zone with a 12-run win against Skipton, who are now third from bottom, just 11 points clear.

Put into bat, opener Shane Marshall's 55 led Thackley to a score of 150 all out, as Skipton bowlers James Emmott and Shahid Nadeem took 4-17 and 4-21, respectively.

Captain Gary Owens scored 40 and keeper Keir Nelson added a knock of 37 for Skipton, who were bowled out in the 30th over. Mohammed Shoaib (3-38) took some key late wickets for Thackley.

* In the Nidderdale and District League, Division Four leaders Upper Wharfedale cruised to a seven-wicket victory at Thornton-le-Moor.

An excellent bowling attack, led by spells of 4-6 by David Stockdale and 3-28 by James Stephenson, saw the Grassington side skittle the home side out for 64.

Upper Wharfedale, led by Joe Metcalfe's 23, easily chased down the total, putting on 65-3 in 13.4 overs.
