A HAT-TRICK by Ben Cox saw Skipton Town get an early season upset, beating last year's Craven League champions Settle United 5-1 on Saturday.

Town lead 3-1 at the break, and in addition to man-of-the-match Cox's goals, Oliver Scott-Crawford and substitute Liam Cartman were on the scoresheet for Skipton.

Trawden Celtic Juniors moved to the top of the Premier Division with a convincing 8-0 victory at home to FC Sporting Keighley.

Barnoldswick Barons went top of Division Two by rampaging to an 8-2 victory against Skipton Town Reserves at Victory Park.

Man-of-the-match Gareth Turner led the charge for the Barons with four goals, as James Cumpstey, Luke Scothern, Jack Smith and substitute James Oliver were also on the scoresheet. Liam Coates had a brace for Skipton Town.

Earby Town are second on points difference after a 4-0 whitewashing of Baildon Trinity Athletic, thanks to a hat-trick by Ben Armstrong and a goal by Shane Taylforth.

Third place Salts 3rds are still unbeaten after beating Bradley 4-3 at Saltaire on Saturday. Substitute James Entwistle scored a brace for Bradley.
