BARNOLDSWICK Town travelled to Hanley Town last Saturday hopeful of building on their FA Vase win against Northallerton but were soundly beaten by the home side.

Tim Sanders deservedly put Hanley in front on 24 minutes before making it 2-0 after 38 minutes.

Hanley wrapped up the points in the last minute when Neville Thompson scored.

Town will be hoping to bounce back when they play bottom of the table Litherland REMYCA at home at 3pm this Saturday.

* There was some good news for Barnoldswick Town late last week when they announced the signing of striker Reece Barrett from Garstang.

"I'm really happy," said Barrett. "It's a chance I wanted to take and I was really interested in making the move."

Garstang have had a difficult start to the season, sitting 16th in the First Division North.

"I enjoyed it there, but there have been a few managerial changes and it's been a tough start for them," said Barrett. "I'm happy to get a fresh start."

The centre forward is now looking forward to linking up with the likes of Ric Seear and Zack Dale.

"I like to be up top and getting chances to score goals, so I'm looking forward to working alongside the lads."
