SETTLE Stingrays Swimming Club held its first gala of the 2019-20 season.
The medal haul was led by 12-year-old Settle College student, Keelan Behan, who achieved 3 A grade golds and 2 A grade silvers from his five events. He also will be competing in the forthcoming senior Yorkshire Winter Competition, achieving qualifying times in 10 events.
Club captain Saoirse Behan will accompany her brother to the senior Yorkshire Winter Competition, qualifying for three events following success in summer galas and personal bests.
Mabel Whitaker, 9, was competing in her first competition, achieved a B grade silver medal in the 50m backstroke. Her brother, Ned, will compete in the 50m breaststroke at the junior Winter Yorkshire Competition.
Lucy Bagot and Jessica Oakey won medals and achieved A grade times. They will attend the junior county competition in September, competing in 100m IM and 50m butterfly, respectively.
Siblings Carys and Ben Bedford were also in fine form, achieving medals and personal bests across a range of events.
Ben also gained another two Yorkshire times, bringing his tally to four. He will compete in 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 100m IM and 50m butterfly, in the junior event.
Also competing and displaying amazing team spirit were Josh Hutchinson, Jess Hutchinson, Phoebe Oliver and Seb Fazackerley. All achieved personal bests and medals.
