NORTH Ribblesdale Under-16s bowed out of this year's Yorkshire Cup with a gallant 26-21 defeat at home to York on Sunday.
Both teams played with good spirit and style, with man-of-the-match Adam Dunwell impressing in the pack.
Winger Flynn Wake got Ribb's first try as the high press from the Ribb backs forced a York handling error that he was able to capitalise on.
Winger Leo Walkden added another try with a flying dash down the right finished under the posts.
Then centre Callum Mathew burst free from a tackle to power home and give Ribb a 21-7 lead at half-time.
York grew more into the game in the second half, and the decisive try was scored with one minute to go leaving Ribb too little time to respond.
