A CRAVEN College student has been selected for the England National Karate Team to compete at the World Karate Federation (WKF) Cadets, Juniors & U21 Championships in Santiago de Chile this week.
Troy Darnbrough, 17, is going up against some of the best fighters in the karate world at his age group.
A 2nd Dan Black Belt, he only took up the sport six years ago to help build up his confidence.
Darnbrough is a member of Quest Karate Club in Skipton and is coached by his uncle Frank Pullano.
Coach Frank said: “Troy is a dedicated student and has put in a lot of hard work over the past six years.
“For him to represent his country at the highest level for his age group is a very proud moment as his coach, but more so as his uncle.”
If you are interested in joining a successful team or would just like to try a new sport, please call Frank Pullano on 07718 140904 to arrange a free taster session.
