Tom Windle is back in America in the second year of his scholarship for the highly rated Apaches, who are based in Tyler, near Dallas.

The 20-year-old was awarded a prestigious scholarship to play football and obtain a college degree in 2018.

The defender has made an excellent start to this season featuring in 18 matches so far and only conceding 11 goals.

The Apaches have won 16 of their 20 fixtures and consist of a strong squad 30 players from all around the world.

The former Water Street Primary School and Settle College student combines playing football at a high level with his studies for a college degree.

Previously, Windle was originally spotted by Bradford City FC whilst playing for Skipton LMS as an eleven year old in the annual Silsden football tournament.

The Bradfordian applied his trade at City for seven years, progressing from academy to first team and picking up a reserve league title medal along the way.

Lee Windle (Tom’s father) said: "It only seems like two minutes ago since he was playing for Skipton LMS, as a family we’re all so very proud of him.

"His seven years with Bradford City FC and his appearances at senior level has certainly help him to quickly adapt the different challenges of playing football in the USA.

"This is a terrific opportunity for him to develop and also such an amazing life experience that very few have the opportunity to do."
