BARNOLDSWICK Town's Ryan Shenton found the back of the net four times in a goal feast against North West Counties League leaders 1874 Northwich at Silentnight Stadium on Saturday.

Shenton scored his fourth for Barnoldswick on the stroke of full-time, but it was the Premier Division leaders 1874 Northwich who put in a strong performance to run out 8-4 winners on the day.

Jake Parker put Northwich 1-0 up in the 11th minute and the visitors never looked back, getting goals from Scott McGowan on 25 minutes and Callum Gardner in the 39th minute.

Shenton pulled one back for Town on 41 minutes, but Northwich extended their lead to 4-1 when Lee Knight scored in after a goalmouth scramble in extra time to make it 4-1 at the break.

Town played well to start the second half and were rewarded with Shenton's second on 55 minutes.

McGowan then scored his second in the 65th minute and Knight completed his hat-trick with two more goals in the 69th and 80th minutes, and Gardner rounded off the scoring for visitors by bagging his brace on 86 minutes.

Shenton completed his hat-trick, scoring a consolation for Barlick on 90 minutes and then added his fourth on the stroke of full-time to make it 8-4.

Barlick's next game is this Thursday's Boxing Day clash against Padiham at Silentnight Stadium. Kick-off is at 3pm.
