NORTH Ribblesdale lost 19-3 in a turgid match away to Yorkshire Two strugglers Wath Upon Dearne.

Ribb started well up the hill and Mick Thwaite kicked a neat penalty to take an early lead.

The home side equalised with a penalty shortly after but Ribb put in a reasonable first half performance against the elements.

John Padley was in sparkling form and Ryan Sumner made some serious dents in the home defensive line.

Wath kicked two penalties but never looked close to scoring a try as they took a 9-3 lead into half-time.

In the second half, Ribb did not get to grips playing downhill on a very heavy pitch with the wind, and Wath realised Sumner was Ribb's most potent attacker and packed their defence against him.

Despite having a man sin binned, Wath's belief grew and when Ribb gave away a series of midfield penalties Wath extended their lead with a converted try.

Wath rounded off the scoring with another penalty to give them a bonus point win.
