BUDDING lady golfers are set to start the New Year with a swing after are being offered a heavily discounted get-into-the-game package deal at Skipton Golf Club.

A series of eight weekly beginner lessons has been teed up at the town’s White Hills driving range, running most Tuesdays from January 14 to March 17, with just 12 places available – six from 6.30pm, the other half from 7.30pm.

The lessons will be conducted by local PGA-qualified professional Ben Mallinson, from Bracewell, who has a long association with the club and has already worked wonders in helping to develop junior golf.

The cost is £45 all in, to include provision of all necessary golf equipment and balls at the driving range.

A social event for the newcomers is also being planned next February, offering a valuable introduction to both club and course.

Skipton Golf club's 2020 Lady Captain Ros Moloney said: "This pathway into golf has proved extremely popular in the past among ladies who are either complete beginners or others wishing to return following a break.

"Many have gone on to become valued members of both the ladies section and the club in general, all are more than welcome.”

Ladies interested in signing up for the initiative or requiring more information should contact the club’s business manager Simon Bradley on 01756 795657, or email getintogolf@skiptongolfclub.co.uk
