FOR Wharfedale this Saturday it will be Stourbridge 'take two' after last Saturday's match at the Avenue was postponed and then re-scheduled for this weekend.
"The pitch on Saturday was in excellent condition thanks to our groundsman Fred Fox," said Wharfedale coach Jon Feeley. "Stourbridge pulled out of the match, citing the weather and difficulty with the coach company (who were going to transport them here).
"As far as we're concerned, the fixture should have gone ahead. Our pitch has excellent drainage and the roads were open. The only result of the weekend is that the boys were disappointed not to play, but we'll go through the same process in training this week.
Feeley said the week off allowed extra healing time for Matt Speres, who should be back after injury. Jonny Moore will reassessed this week, but new signing Tom Davidson is unavailable.
The match at the Avenue kicks off at 2pm on Saturday.
