KEIGHLEY Cougars face an unusual friendly in May, having arranged a game with newly-formed Valencia Huracanes.
The Spanish side have applied for a place in Betfred League One for 2021, so are looking to use this season to build up some experience, as well as playing in the Espana Rugby League.
Having been formed in 2019 by English businessman Dean Buchan, Valencia played their first game against English opposition last month.
They took on Championship side Featherstone Rovers on January 11 at their Estadio de Rugby ground in Villajoyosa, battling bravely but suffering a heavy 102-14 defeat.
The Huracanes are looking to make use of a largely homegrown squad, but do have Connor Aspey, Luis Roberts and Sam Bardsley on dual registration from the Salford Red Devils Academy.
Their game against Cougars in a few months time is still subject to the RFL's approval, and no confirmation has been given yet as to whether the game will be held in England or Spain.
