STEETON have formally announced that Adam Smith has decided to rejoin the coaching staff for the 2020/21 season, where he will work alongside manager Roy Mason, assistant manager Brian Blackwell and chairman Pete Jeffrey.

After spending many successful years at the club, Smith decided early on last season (August 2019) to step down from his role as assistant manager for personal reasons.

He has remained a fan of the club and was often seen down at Cougar Park on a matchday cheering on the team. He has also regularly tweeted his support.

His firm Steeton Grove Autocare are one of the club's main sponsors too.

But Smith has decided that he wants to be more than just a fan and a sponsor of the Chevrons.

On rejoining the club, he said: "After being away for the best part of last season, I have had a bit of time away from the game to do other things and also had a bit of time to consider things.

"I've missed the club and the matchday involvement and being on the training ground.

"When I spoke to Roy last week, I thought that the time was right and I look forward to getting back to working with Roy, Brian and Pete and helping push the club forward.

"I'm hoping that, with a couple of playing additions, we can look forward to a successful season."
