WEST Yorkshire League side Oxenhope Recreation have brought a former Thackley chairman and coach in as their new second team manager.

Phil Woollias will also be club coach at Oxenhope and the club are thrilled to bring in someone with such experience.

Woollias is an FA Level Two qualified coach and, as well as being Under-21s coach at Thackley, he was also the club chairman there over two spells.

He had been coaching for over 10 years at various levels, before deciding to take a break from the adult game in 2018.

But he felt now was the right time to return and Oxenhope felt he was the outstanding candidate for the second team manager role.

Speaking to the club's social media channels about taking on the job, Woollias said: "I've been looking at a few options recently but after spending time talking to this club, I knew it was a club I wanted to be involved in.

"I'm really looking forward to getting out on the training pitch again and getting ready to help push the club on again."

Oxenhope thanked all the other candidates for their interest and wished Woollias all the best in his role once football returns.
