A COUPLE of golfers from Ghyll Golf Club, in Barnoldswick, have raised thousands for charity.

Steve Greenwood and Steve Mortimer (Jnr) played 110 holes in over 14 hours to gain, with sponsorship from both members and local businesses, £3227 for Pendleside Hospice.

Big thanks must also go out to Steve Mortimer (Snr), who followed them raking the bunkers and Kate Powell, who supplied the pair with food and drinks throughout the day.

Club captain Anthony Fisher said: “This was a tremendous effort by two of our younger golfers and the generosity shown by our members typifies the clubs big heart.”
