WITH the non league football season expected to begin at some stage in September, clubs will be eager to make sure they have got their preparation spot on.
Pre-season matches are usually great to regain fitness and let managers assess players ahead of a busy schedule.
Friendlies are allowed to take place from August 1 and the West Riding FA have issued several guidelines their teams must adhere too before playing.
Both teams must be fully affiliated, have a covid-19 officer in place, complete a covid-19 risk assessment and the fixture must be sanctioned by the governing body.
Clubs must fill in a sanctioning friendlies form and will get an automated email if approved.
