SETTLE confirmed their status as one of the best cricket teams in Craven after winning the Ribblesdale League T20 Cup, and returning to the top of the Senior table.

John Davidson was in fine form in the cup final against Salesbury, carrying his bat for 20 overs with 59 to his name.

Tom Davidson weighed in with five sixes in his knock of 47. Settle closed on 132-5.

Harry Snowden and Will Davidson then took two wickets apiece, and Tom Davidson (3-16) ended the visitors’ resistance as they struggled to 83-7.

In League action, Brinscall could only manage 106 all out after Eddy Read returned match figures of 5-25, backed up by 3-9 from John Tarbox.

Davidson hit an unbeaten 39 in the reply, with support from Tom Davidson (31) and Alex Gould (29).

The home side knocked off the runs inside 20 overs to win by seven wickets and leave them two points clear of Ribblesdale Wanderers.

Next Saturday’s match against Wanderers could help decide the championship in this shortened season.

Elsewhere, Barnoldswick's 146 score was enough to hand them the victory over Earby.

Opener Ashir Imdad (40) top-scored as Earby's Adam Hodge and Jason Lockley each gained three wickets in the first innings.

The hosts simply couldn't reply with a better total though, falling 25 runs short in the end.
