THE Ribblesdale League Senior League is now a two-horse race with Settle trailing Ribblesdale Wanderers by three points after the penultimate round of fixtures.

The Marshfield men picked up full points as they beat Cherry Tree by seven wickets.

The bottom-placed side have not won a game all season, but did well to make 139 facing eight Settle bowlers. Tom Davidson (3-20) and Benjamin Hulse (2-18) took the honours.

The reply saw John Davidson (54) complete his fourth half-ton of the season, passing 400 runs in the process.

Sound support from Alex Gould (26) and an unbeaten 25 from Hulse saw the hosts home with nine overs to spare.

Settle will look for maximum points at Oswaldtwistle, who have just managed a single win this year, and hope Read can do them a favour by beating Wanderers.

Joe Rawlinson (61) and captain Liam Parkinson (40) put Salesbury (188-6) on their way to victory against Earby. Luke Hipgrave (56) top-scored in a response which fell 47 runs short.

Barnoldswick sit in joint-third thanks to a six-wicket win over Padiham. The visitors were all out for a measly 81 which Barlick eclipsed in just over 18 overs.
