THERE has been plenty of action at Ghyll Golf Club recently and many players have enjoyed a ton of success because of it.

On a challenging course set by club captain Anthony Fisher, Brandon Cocker playing off a handicap of two and scored 39 points to win the Captain’s Day first prize.

The over 65’s accolade was won by John Ensby and Rob Greenwood was victorious in the front nine.

Paul Johns took home the back nine and the mid six was played the best by Rory Preston.

John Schofield and Ryan Moore shot the nearest the pin to capture prizes.

Fisher thanked all members and staff for making the day a special one.

The Four Man Team Texas Scramble was won by Rob Nesbitt, Chris Crabtree, Paul Schofield and Brian Strickland with a score of 58.1.

Sam Bugler, Dan Inman, Jack Tyrell and Adam Rowley (58.3) finished second.

The Jimmy Platt Memorial Trophy was handed to Kevin Honeyman after he scored 39 points, followed by John Ensby (38) and club president David Taylforth (37).

In the Ladies Medal, Greta Henderson won with a nett 75 ahead of Maria Lister who hit a nett 78.

Ingrid Haydock was the best golfer in the nine hole Stableford with 14 points.
