A LARA Wilson masterclass allowed Skipton Ladies to open their 2020/21 account with a comfortable 5-2 victory over Slazengers 2.

After defeats at Thirsk and Leeds Adel, Skipton were determined to get on the board against the bottom-placed side.

The hosts played with great quality and it was clear to see that their intense pre-season training had finally started to pay off.

Banana runs, ball transfers, pressing the opposition's defence and triangles were all falling into place, which in turn led to goals.

The first a great pass from Wilson to captain Helen Cartlidge whose slight touch took it past the Slazengers keeper.

Wilson then proceeded to bag four goals herself. Two were great finishes after banana runs from Georgina Pring on the right.
