SKIPTON Ladies were unable to make it three wins on the bounce as they were well beaten 3-0 at home by a well organised City of York side.
In the wet and windy conditions, it was the visitors who were quick and dealt with the Skipton press well to move the ball up the pitch.
Although, the hosts started the better and should have broken the deadlock when captain Helen Cartlidge produce a fabulous cross in front of the goal which was not converted.
York scored twice soon after, including a short corner squeezed inside the left post.
City of York's passing was incisive, compared to Skipton's lacklustre build up of play.
The home side did have a fair number of chances but just struggled in the finishing department.
Keeper Wendy Torres made some amazing saves when City of York broke down the middle at speed.
Newly appointed Skipton head coach Yusra Shabir said: "It was a disappointing result.
"Nevertheless, the ladies held a fantastic press throughout and played on with their heads held high"
