BARNOLDSWICK Town have made a new signing to boost their ranks, bringing in young central midfielder Alex Pope.
He has previously had spells at Colne, Garstang and Burscough, and spent time at Fleetwood and AFC Fylde in their youth teams.
Pope has even been abroad for his football, training out in the USA with LA Galaxy last year and playing some games for their reserves.
He was diagnosed with the heart disease pericarditis at one point while playing for Colne, but fortunately was able to get that under control after a couple of months out of action.
Pope admitted he was excited to join Barlick, as he has family ties to the area.
His grandad and great-grandad were fine footballers themselves, both playing for Burnley.
