CLUBS like Thackley, Eccleshill and Silsden will get nearly £1,000 each to ease any financial burdens following the end of the 2020/21 season.
The Northern Counties East League, with the aid of sponsors Toolstation, have unanimously approved the following measures, designed to help their clubs financially following the curtailment of the 2020/21 season:
- Clubs will not be charged an annual subscription fee for season 2021/22.
- Clubs will not be charged for match day inspections.
- Each club will be supplied with a box of sixteen footballs prior to the start of season 2021/22.
- Clubs will not be charged for registrations for season 2020/21.
The overall cost of that to the NCEL will be £37,400, which means each club benefits by approximately £935.
Furthermore, non-league clubs at steps 3-6 can now apply for grants from the Football Survival Package for this summer.
The deadline to apply for this grant is on Sunday, May 9.
This is a government funded scheme which has been created to support National League System clubs who have been severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and to protect their immediate future.
This will be a huge boost to many teams who have struggled financially during the pandemic and this should help keep local teams which serve the community from getting into financial trouble.
