AT long last, Wharfedale finally have a league rugby game this weekend.

The first two sightings of Wharfedale will be on the road. First at Rotherham today and then away to Sheffield Tigers.

The first National Two North league game at home is against Sedgley Park on 18th September.

Wharfedale have played Rotherham twice at the Avenue in recent years as a pre-season warm up, both games being closely fought and just won by Wharfedale.

Rotherham are newcomers to National Two North rugby and have firm ambitions to climb back into National One and beyond.

The Titans have had two tough pre-season games against Sale and Leeds Tykes, and are keen to start their league programme.

Following on from their pre-season games, their head coach Steve Salvin said: “We are disappointed with how things went and we know we’ll have to be a lot better against Wharfedale in our first game of the season.”

Kick off is a brisk 2pm and the address for sat navs is Clifton Lane, Rotherham, S60 2SN.

It is time for the travelling faithful to get moving again.
