SKIPTON couldn't earn a victory against rivals Burley at the weekend, instead being edged out by a 22-8 scoreline.
The away side (Skipton)kicked-off down the slope and exerted early pressure but Burley replied with a penalty kick into the corner. Skipton won the line-out but lost the ball on the ground and Burley ran in an early converted try.
Skipton continued to secure possession and were rewarded with a Charlie Brown try from 22 metres out. The conversion attempt went wide and the sides turned round at 7-5 in the home side's favour.
The visitors were then penalised for a penalty, which stand-off Darren Howson slotted to put the visitors ahead 7-8.
The home side responded immediately with a penalty kick into the corner and were over but held up. They gained a further penalty, again into the corner, and were in for try number two. The conversion attempt went wide.
Another Burley penalty kick at goal stretched their lead to 15-8, before they ran in a third try which was converted (22-8).
