NORTH Ribblesdale enjoyed a great weekend, with their fine 29-7 win over visiting Leeds Corinthians in Yorkshire Two.

Ribblesdale have had a tough season, but their decent home form has kept them in touch with the sides in mid-table, which include the Corinthians.

And here, they put on a dominant display to claim their first league victory of the new year.

The speedy John Davidson scored the opening try after 30 minutes and that was converted.

Alexander Dew got another try on the stroke of half-time, sending Ribb into the interval with a 12-0 lead.

In the second half, a loose kick was secured by the excellent Dew, who fed the quick and elusive Ben Coultherd, who scored wide out after 60 minutes.

Ribb’s good handling created more opportunities and as the visiting pack tired, Harris Dinsdale and Frankie Brown-Sowerby went over for tries, with Mick Thwaite converting the latter of those to make it 29-0.

Corinthians battled away and a sharp break saw them get away for a late long-distance try, which was converted.

North Ribb, who moved up to third-bottom with the win, face a tough trip to leaders Keighley this Saturday.
