ON AN almost Spring like day, with the pitch having nearly recovered from recent downpours Skipton took on West Park in the re arranged fixture from last weekend.

Skipton were seeking revenge from an ill tempered 11-18 defeat at West Park in October but started the match in a nervous and penalty strewn manner.

However West Park were having similar problems and following a series of penalties for offside one of their players was yellowed and Lewis Reynoldson slotted the penalty on the half hour mark. Shortly afterwards Sid ( Jordan Wilson) was also yello rwed for persistent Skipton team offences.

Just after his return and prior to half time Lewis Reynoldson broke and an excellent pass to Hamish Munro allowed him the space to breach the West Park cover for a converted try under the post.

The second half started with more pressure from Skipton and a good downfield kick was picked up by Anthony Chapman who broke and nearly scored. It was then Ed Harrison's turn and he was unlucky not to score from a break as well.Eventually Skipton got their just desserts with a pick up and go from Chapman and the forwards for another converted try.

West Park suddenly recovered their composure and their left winger beat Skipton defence for an unconverted try upfield.

Craig Bartlett, the Skipton coach then brought on his 'finishers'! - Harry McEneaney, Steven Carroll, Brad Nicholson and Callum Patrick and they provided further impetus to the Skipton attack.

West Park were beginning to tire and following another offside decision Lewis Reynoldson was unlucky with a long range penalty kick from just inside their half.Eventually a well worked try with good hands by Munro and Chapman led to a converted try being scored by Callum Patrick.

This was the end of the scoring with Skipton running out 24-5 victors.
