BARNOLDSWICK Town leapt above Prestwich Heys on Tuesday night with a 2-0 win there in the NWCFL Premier Division.
Taking advantage of an injury ridden home defence, Andrew Hill opened the scoring after only 10 minutes for Barlick, with his angled effort finding the net.
Barnoldswick were looking the more inventive in the early stages, and they made it 2-0 after 23 minutes, when a corner flashed across the six-yard box, took a deflection, and landed at Hill's feet for him to finish from close range.
Hill went close with a couple of efforts just off-target after the break, while former Barnoldswick striker Jack Coop went closest for Prestwich, as his long-range effort struck the bar.
But beyond that, Heys, who are managed by former Town boss Matt Barnes, rarely threatened.
Barlick went on therefore to claim a deserved win that moved them up to 15th.
