A DOMINANT first half display ensured Barnoldswick Town cruised to a 3-0 victory at AFC Blackpool on Saturday in the second qualifying round of the FA Vase Trophy.

The game was dead and buried after the opening 37 minutes of the tie, a period in which Barlick scored all three of their goals, with Ben Ashton, Andy Hill and Gareth Hill all striking for the visitors.

It only took three minutes for Barlick to get into their groove, as Ben Ashton was able to capitalise on a defensive error following a ball played through A.Hill., where he placed the ball neatly into the home side’s net.

This was the catalyst for a thoroughly dominant first half display.

A.Hill was once again involved in Barlick’s second of the fixture, as on minute 26, he was able to curl a delightful first time effort into the far corner after being set by G.Hill for 2-0.

The latter was able to add his own goal scoring touch with eight minutes of the half remaining, and A.Hill switch roles on the lead up to the goal- this time acting as the provider. G.Hill raced clear after an inch perfect through ball and rounded the keeper to send the visitors in 3-0 up at the break.

Barlick were able to see the tie out and they’ve now been presented with a home tie with Selby Town to kick their official FA Vase campaign off.
