BARNOLDSWICK Town had to come from behind to rescue a point at Ashton Athletic on Saturday, as both sides played their part in a four-goal thriller.

The result means that Barlick have now drawn their last three league fixtures, and they had talisman Andy Hill to thank on this occasion, the inform forward striking a brace for the visitors.

It was the away side who took lead though, as Hill struck his 16th goal of the season with a crisp right-footed effort with around 25 minutes on the clock.

However, Barnoldswick would go on to implode before the interval, with the hosts scoring twice in the remaining five minutes of the first half; first from a free-kick and then from the penalty spot.

Foster had a great chance to equalise for the visitors just after the break, however the home side’s keeper got down low to parry the shot away.

That didn’t deter Barlick from coming forward again, and that man Andy Hill wouldn’t be denied on this occasion. After a brilliantly executed and slick move, Barnoldswick’s number ten was on hand to level things up and rescue a valuable point for the side from the Silentnight Stadium.

Tonight, Barlick travel to Litherland Remyca and on Saturday they visit Vauxhall Motors with a kick off time of 3:00 pm.
