BARNOLDSWICK Town’s NWCFL campaign kicked off with a stalemate on Saturday, with the visitors snatching a 1-1 draw at Lower Breck.
A first half strike from Callum Sandle wasn’t enough for the visitors to take all three points back to Barlick as the hosts levelled ten minutes after the interval.
After a quiet opening to the contest, Town’s no1 Callum Jakovlevs was called into action to pull of an astonishing save, as he tipped a fine effort onto the crossbar.
On minute 34 the deadlock was broken; Sandle meeting a corner to guide the visitors in front.
In the second half Lower Breck found the equaliser through Paul Mooney in front of a crowd of 208 spectators.
Barlick return to action tomorrow when they host Chadderton, while Handsworth visit the Silentnight Stadium in the cup on Saturday.
