A second half strike was the difference as Barnoldswick Town fell just short at FC United of Manchester on Saturday in the first qualifying round of the FA Cup.
The hosts had been threatening to break the deadlock throughout the contest, but they struck the only goal of the game with 18 minutes remaining of the tie.
Substitute Nic Bollado was on hand to cushion a well-placed shot into the far corner of Barlick’s net, after arriving in the box to meet a driven cross.
The visitors did push for a leveller, but the hosts were able to see the game out and claim a 1-0 victory.
Barnoldswick return to league action tomorrow when they travel to Longridge Town.
