BARNOLDSWICK Town secured their third consecutive NWCFL victory on Saturday, as they put on a strong display to defeat Skelmersdale United 3-1 at the Silentnight Stadium.

A George Chmiel brace alongside a strike from Brad Carsley meant that the hosts would continue on their fine run of form in the league.

Barlick now find themselves in 10th but have at least one game in hand on all the teams above them in the table.

On Saturday the hosts got off to a flying start, scoring after only three minutes of the contest. Andy Hill fired a shot in, which was saved, but Chmiel was on hand to poke the ball home on the rebound.

After a fairly quiet following 35 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores five minutes shy of half-time, after racing clear to stroke the ball home.

In the second half (57), Carsley put the home side back in front after some fine wing work from Ben Ashton. The forward collected the ball, before delivering a perfect cross to his target in the box and Barlick's no9 tucked the ball away after having his first effort saved.

On minute 76 Chmiel turned his man inside out, before firing a drilled strike into the bottom corner of the visitors' net to put the game to bed at 3-1.

Up next for Barnoldswick is a trip to Padiham on Saturday, 3pm.
