FRIDAY May 3 saw Team Skipton take on Ilkley GC in their very first match in the Harrogate Union, and what an up-and-down match it was.
After the first six holes, Skipton were ahead in all 4 Scratch Matches and all 4 Handicap Matches, a stunning start from all involved.
The back nine proved a bit trickier with a few holes changing hands meaning the end result was an overall win 9-7 to Skipton, unfortunately, the scratch team lost 5-3 within that but a special mention to Brook Coward who blew his man away 6&5.
The next match is away at Bedale on this evening.
Finally, congratulations to Brook Coward, Gav Stocker and Chris Payne who have all been selected to represent the Harrogate Union in their upcoming match against East Riding, to be played at Hornsea Golf Club on Sunday 19 May.
