STEETON entertained Guiseley in the West Riding County Cup first round on Tuesday night and lost 4-0.
With the Lions plying their trade three divisions higher than their hosts, the result was no surprise, though the underdogs gave a good account of themselves.
Steeton played well in the first half and their chances, but Will Longbottom punished a mistake to score the opener for Guiseley.
The visitors grew stronger as the half wore on, but they did not score again until Jordan Thewlis fired home a fine long-range strike on 66 minutes.
Steeton kept plugging away, but late goals from Cam Wilson and Dan Brookes put the gloss on the scoreline for Guiseley.
