Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One leaders Bradley encountered few problems when they entertained Ingrow.

The visitors were restricted to 88-9 in their innings, Mark Price retiring hurt on 28 after deflecting the ball off his shoulder into his face.

The ensuing cut needed eight stitches but the player was okay to return to the field, only to find his side were all out!

James Hesletine took 4-8 off 22 balls and Matt Simpson 3-48. Craig Tempest made 39no as the home side triumphed for the loss of three wickets.

Embsay and Cullingworth had their usual close encounter at Shires Lane.

Haroon Ali scored 51, Rob Bateman 47 and No 9 Aslam Hussein 35no as the innings closed on 194-9.

Chris Welch finished with 4-63 and Phil Poole 3-31. In reply, the Roydwood Terrace got home by three wickets with nine balls to spare.

Top-scorer Adie Powis (40no) was crucially dropped when ten runs were needed. Haworth Road put a dent in joint second-placed Crossflatts’ chances of taking the title as they won by 78 runs.

Oakworth entertained Bingley Congs and would have been rel-atively pleased with 171 going first.

The reply can only be described as staggering. The Beckfoot side scorched to a nine-wicket victory in just 19.4 overs!

Haworth put a little daylight between themselves and the bottom three.

At home to Glusburn, they restricted the visitors to 164-8. After John Golson had made 41, it was left to M Desgranges (15no) and Alan Coney (47no) to add 59 for the ninth wicket as Gary Binns and Jamie Rowell claimed three victims each.

The reply was immense. Jamie Rowell and Peter Gower put on 156 for the first wicket, with the former making 90. Gower took his score to 54no as victory was achieved by nine wickets in the 33rd over.

Cononley remained rooted to the foot of the table, despite a decent batting performance at Cowling.

Again it was a late-order partnership that rescued the cause. Andrew Starkey (34) and Freddie Pearson (30) had helped the total to 133-7.

Then Colin Stead (41no) joined Jonathan Smith (15) and they took the score to 192, when the latter perished.

One run later the innings closed. Steve Richardson bowled through to finish with 3-83 and Matthew Wiggan took 3-23.

There was another fantastic reply, with Steve Richardson (104) and Mike Dudley (41) putting together an opening stand of 168.

The points were seized for the loss of two wickets in the 40th over.

Thornton, leaders of Division Two, enjoyed a 115-run victory over third-placed Chatburn.

The Booth Bridge Laners smashed 296-5. Kev Pollard and Rob Foster (87) put on 137 for the first wicket.

Pollard was fifth out for 86 with the score on 249. Then Jason Lock-ley (44no) and Dave Scothern (28no) took the score to 296.

The Ribble Valley side made a spirited reply of 181, but had no-one to make the big score. Ben Threlfall was the highest contributor with 51 as Marc Laycock claimed 6-72 off 14 overs.

Second-placed Barrowford were at Haworth West End and dismissed them for 172, with Chris Platt taking 4-48 and Dan Jones 4-56 as Owen Palmer top-scored with 54. Liam Roberts (81no) was the star of the Bull Holme side’s 176-3.

Riddlesden drew level with Pendle Forest near the bottom of the table after beating them by nine wickets at Grange Road.

The Fence side were restricted to a modest 119, with Neil Hargreaves making 38 as Rishabh Jain took 6-18 in 9.2 overs.

The homesters lost a wicket at 16 but then proceeded to their target without further loss in only 13.3 overs, with Jain making 72no and Nasar Kamal 39no.

Sutton remain in the bottom two, despite a good batting performance at home to Sandy Lane.

The Royd Hill made 204, with David Snowden scoring 65 and Ben Simons 40. Steve Carass, A Hussain and N Smith all took three wickets.

The Greenwood Park side got home by four wickets with three overs to spare, L Crowther making 53no, Matthew Roberts 47 and M Zulfiqar 40 as Si Doane took 4-54.

Wilsden looked to have given themselves a good chance of taking the points when they made 194-7 at home to Foulridge. Tom Peirson (59) and Dave Henson (40) were the main contributors as Chris Brooker-Carey took 4-28.

However, the Noyna side galloped home for the loss of four wickets with J Lickess making 68no and D Spokes 47.

Ingrow St John’s are now seven points adrift at the bottom after going down by three wickets to Long Lee at Street Lane.

Airedale are the sole leaders of Division Three after they beat Oakworth II convincingly and Gargrave lost.

Nadeem Zaman (40) and Alec Pue (35) helped the leaders to 171-8. The Cure Hill side were shot out for 59, Zaman taking 4-14 off nine overs.

Gargrave were at home to third-placed Embsay II, who rattled up 187-5. Nas Hussein made 51no and Neville Allen and Alan Pickles 36 apiece as Tom Cowburn claimed 3-65.

The homesters made 159, Lee Barrett leading the way with 54 as Waris Kamal took 5-58.

Denholme’s Adam Taylor (6-33 and 60) had a solid game at Cononley II, the winning margin being two wickets from the visitors.

Glusburn II lost both openers for just one run at home to Skipton CI. Sadly it was all downhill from there and the innings closed on 69 as John Drake took 5-19 and Craig Boyd 5-49.

Paul Mason made 41 as the visi-tors strolled to the points for the loss of just one wicket in 11 overs.

Division Four leaders Crossflatts II were in good form at home to Wilsden II. Darren Mason took 5-21 as the Windy Grove were shot out for 61. The homesters lost two wickets in reaching their target.

Cullingworth, in second place, were struggling at 129-8 before Martin Rendell and C Todd got going. They added 107 for the ninth wicket, with Rendell perishing for 99 as the innings closed on 236.

Visitors Chatburn replied with 185-9, with Mark Nuremberg scoring 60 and Damian Gupta 41 as George Fletcher claimed 4-39.

Barrowford are tracking Cullingworth II, just a point adrift. They entertained Cowling II and had them back in the hut for 110, with M Gulbhar making 47no as H Quay-yam took 4-6 in 4.5 overs.

The Bull Holme side lost both openers for ducks, and then David Wilkinson (46no) and Quayyam (44no) saw them to victory by eight wickets.

Fourth-placed Ingrow have opened a nine-point gap over Bradley in fifth place after beating them by two wickets.

Matt Price (61) and Neil Lambert (57) helped the visitors to 180-8. Adie Stokes made 51 in the successful reply.

Riddlesden II were at Pendle Forest II and found that 121 was never going to be enough to defend. Only A Hussain with 33 offered much resistance as Mo Furquan took 4-32 and Nigel Jones 3-18.

However, the hosts made heavy weather of reaching their target, losing six wickets with J Overden making a fine 54no as Mick Hawkes finished with 5-37 off 20 overs.

The usually free-scoring batsmen of Sutton II were in poor nick at Sandy Lane II as the side could only make 142.

David Holdsworth made a fighting 74no as Paul Sutcliffe took 4-41 and C Dunne 4-40.

The home side had to battle to the end to snatch the points by one wicket with just two balls left. I Ali made 33 and A Grace 32no as Tony Walton and Colin Ridehalgh took three wickets each.

Little Marsden just managed to cling on to their unbeaten record at the top of Division Five.

At home to Gargrave, they made 164-8 in their overs with A Ahmed top scoring with 35 as H Thompson took 4-56. In reply, Gargrave II were 159-7 with Tim Spensley on 62no. In stepped Darren Greenwood to wrap up the tail without addition and finish with 5-44, and the points were the leaders by 5 runs.

Second-placed Thornton II came to grief at home to Pendle Forest III and drop to fourth after making 197-7, with Steve Laycock scoring 60 and Tim Gates 40.
