Cononley’s Jenny Latham has won her sibling rivalry with canoe slalomist Beth to become the first in the family to get a gold medal at European or world level.
Jenny won the European Triathlon Union’s Championship in her age group (20-24) and was the fastest woman overall across the age groups in the sprint competition at Athlone, Ireland, on Saturday morning, clocking 1hr 7min 43sec.
Beth’s chance comes this weekend as she’s in France training before the World Junior Canoe Slalom Championships at Foix, which starts tomorrow and finishes on Sunday.
