Settle College’s Jack Walker, younger brother of England Under-20 skipper Chris, has been named in a provisional squad of 22 for England Under-16s' internationals against Italy Under-17s and Wales Under-16s in April.

The squad was chosen after a training camp at Stowe School in Buckinghamshire which involved more than 100 players after the scheduled Divisional Festival at Broadstreet was cancelled because of frost.

The England squad will train at Abingdon School in Oxfordshire on March 10-11, which will include a match against Leicester Tigers' Under-17s on the Sunday.

A second warm-up match will be played against London Wasps Under-17s at St Edward's School in Oxford on March 18 during a two-day training camp there.

England play Italy Under-17s in Parma on April 7 and Wales Under-16s at Wellington College at Crowthorne in Berkshire on April 11 (2pm).

His selection crowns a successful time for the Walker brothers. Chris, who is a flanker with Leeds Carnegie, led England to a 40-9 win over Wales at Twickenham Stoop on Friday night.

Both players started out playing in the junior section at North Ribblesdale who are understandably proud of the brothers’international honours.
