Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson admitted his side were not good enough in the 1-0 William Hill Premiership defeat to Falkirk, but refused to shout and scream at his players in the aftermath.

Falkirk substitute Ben Brauhaus netted the only goal of the game, sidefooting into the bottom left corner from the centre of the box after 73 minutes.

But Robinson felt his side should have netted from at least one of their chances before then, saying: “Not good enough. We got what we deserved.

“We had four chances we should score. We had four great chances from inside the penalty spot, and we should score.

“All four are very, very easy chances. We don’t do that, they take their one chance, and that’s why you don’t win football matches.

“I think it’s best to get away and look at everything non-emotionally and then make decisions from there to try and correct what went wrong. You can’t do that when you’re extremely emotional.

“We’re all disappointed with the level of result and performance, and it’s important we come in tomorrow morning with a clear head, that we’re talking sense rather than shouting and screaming, and not saying something you regret.”

Falkirk boss John McGlynn admitted it was not the prettiest of wins but praised his side for grinding out three points at Pittodrie.

He said: “I’m delighted to win, obviously. It wasn’t a classic by any stretch of the imagination . A gritty, ugly three points for us, but well earned.

“We battled, we scrapped, we fought, we did the dirty side of the game game quite well, and we rode our luck at times in the second half.

“There were a couple of balls that broke for Aberdeen in the goalmouth, and you’re just waiting on it hitting the back of the net. I don’t know if it’s been our players or whatever, we’ve managed to block the ball going in the goal.

“If it had ended 0-0 I don’t think we would have been complaining but I’m absolutely delighted that we sneaked it.

“It’s a great finish, and three wins in a row in the Premiership is not easy to come by for a club like Falkirk.“
