Oulton Raiders u14s 38 Keighley Albion u14s 6

KEIGHLEY Albion under-14s began their league campaign away at Oulton, shorn of a number of players against a side who had been promoted.

It was the hosts who got off to the best start as they scored off their first set.

After defending the next set, Albion coughed up cheap possession and conceded again against a well-drilled side.

Things did not improve with Oulton taking advantage of some poor defence to stretch their lead.

Prior to half time an altercation between the sides led to Albion's Riley Corby and the hosts' prop being sin binned and the home team's loose forward sent off.

Oulton did post a try just before to half time to extend their advantage.

With the message to complete sets, the hosts came out and posted another try almost from the restart but then Albion started to do some of the basics right and breaks from new boy Mason Myers-Roberts and Laurie Akroyd gaining excellent territory.

Whilst spending time in the opposition half Albion put together a lovely wide move which gave Billy Lee the space he needed to canter down the touchline before spinning out of would be tacklers to sprint in under the sticks with Josh Dickerson converting.

Albion conceded a couple of late tries to give the hosts the victory.
