THE date for Bulls' trip to Cumbria to face Barrow in the second round of the inaugural 1895 Cup has been confirmed for Wednesday, June 5.

Five of the eight ties will be played on Sunday, June 2, as there are no Betfred Championship or League One fixtures scheduled for the weekend because of the Coral Challenge Cup quarter finals.

But that option was not open to Bradford or Halifax, as a result of their success in reaching the Challenge Cup last eight – in which they will face each other at Odsal in a tie that has been selected for live coverage by the BBC.

As a result, they will both play their 1895 Cup second round ties the following Wednesday – with Halifax drawn at home to Sheffield Eagles.

It will be Bradford’s first trip to Barrow since a 1994 Challenge Cup tie, when they were known as Bradford Northern and won 54-30 – going on to the quarter-finals before losing to Leeds.

The match will be shown live through the RFL’s Our League app.

In addition, Widnes Vikings will play their home tie against Featherstone Rovers on Wednesday, June 5.

The 16 clubs still in the RFL’s new competition are only three wins from Wembley, with the first 1895 Cup Final to be played after the Coral Challenge Cup final on Saturday, August 24.

The draw for the quarter-finals will be held on BBC Radio Leeds at 8.20am on Friday, June 7.
